Finding Inner Peace

If you can start the day without caffeine,
If you can get going without sleeping and diet pills,
If you can always be cheerful ignoring aches and pains,
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your
troubles,

If you can get the same food everyday and be grateful for it,
If you can understand when you are loved ones are too busy to
give you any time,
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment,
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend,

If you can conquer tension without any medical help,
If you can relax wothout liquor,
......Then You Are Probably The Family Dog!
And you thought I was going to get all spiritual with this,
huh?!

Don't Take Life Seriously

Life is one of those races in nursury school where you hav to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls there is no point in coming first. same with the life where relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but the spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark  - Don't take life seriously.  Life is not to be taken seriously as we are temporary here. we are like a pre paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 Yrs IS JUST 2500 WEEKENDS. Do we really need to get so worked up?? It's ok to bunk a few classes,  goof up a few interviews,  fall in love. We are people not programmed devices.

" Don't be serious, be sincere. "!

I Have Learned That

I HAVE LEARNED

I have learned...

That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I have learned...
That when you're in love, it shows.

I have learned...
That just one person saying to me, "You've made my day!" makes my day.

I have learned...
That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.

I have learned...
That being kind is more important than being right.

I have learned...
That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I have learned...
That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.

I have learned...
That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

I have learned...
That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I have learned...
That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

I have learned...
That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.

I have learned...
That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.

I have learned...
That money doesn't buy class.

I have learned...
That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.

I have learned...
That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.

I have learned...
That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.

I have learned...
That love, not time, heals all wounds.

I have learned...
That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I have learned...
That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I have learned...
That there's nothing sweeter than sleeping with your babies and feeling their breath on your cheeks.

I have learned...
That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.

I have learned...
That life is tough, but I'm tougher.

I have learned...
That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I have learned...
That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I have learned...
That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I have learned...
That I can't choose how I feel, but I can choose what I do about it.

I have learned...
That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.

I have learned...
That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.

I have learned...
That it is best to give advice in only two circumstances; when it is requested and when it is a life-threatening situation.

A Day at Laxmi Road Pune

I entered the SIMS on Saturday 14th June and today was my fifth day in college and I had a great feeling to be here. Now I am writing a blog on what happened today in business exercise.

The day started somehow like this.
We gathered in classroom. Kamath sir shared his experiences with us. That gave us a lot of inspiration and motivation to achieve something in our life. Then he said ." Do whatever you do , go to some place , hunt for a job abd earn some money provided you should not disclose where you are studying and dont spend a penny from your pocket.
.
I was always excited to do this kind of exercise. You have to be yourself and no college name is attached with you…It tests what skills do you possess? What are you made up of.
And where you stand?

We were in a group of three. I , anuroop and ashu left for the Laxmi Road.Dint knew where the road is. Got the lift and guess what the car in which we were was the car of one of our professor who taught us yesterday.then again We got the lift in maruti 800 and after 3-4 kms of walking

We thought lets do something different that nobody does. We thought we will go to retail stores and restaurant in the end if we cant find any job. But first lets look at something new.

We went to Chartered Accountants, Printing shops, Designers, Banks, Computer Hardware and Software, tried some thing different but failed. Still we had lot of energy and got into a floor where it was written Prabhat Publications. We got the jackpot there was a newspaper Intelligent Pune, a publication from Prabhat publication.

Ashu spoke to the editor and the editor showed interest to give us some job. Now the job was either to go door to door to convince people to convince them to have the subscription of the newspaper or we can sell the ad space in the newspaper. We chose to sell the ad space.

We had a meeting with the PI editor Ms. Vinita Deshmukh and she told us about the newspaper. I am really lucky that she showed confidence in us and told us about what we have to do and how do we have to go for it.

First we got the information for what readers the newspaper is targets so that we will proceed accordingly and then we were told about the rate list for ad space. She gave us few tips about marketing like how to talk to clients and how to convince them for giving ad in this newspaper. She came up with a brilliant idea that we will devote whole center page for ads this time for monsoon special for Laxmi Road. That tips were really useful and we got to know how everything works. What is marketing all about?

We three then took some sample newspapers, rate list and some visiting cards of Ms. Vinita and left for selling ad space. We all moved into different directions and explored various shops. I went into shoes showroom, sarees and furniture. At that time I was not a SIMS student. I was just a marketing representative of Intelligent Pune newspaper. Many thoughts came to my mind whether I will be able to do it. Never had such kind of experience. Visited many stores and finally I was able to convince one person that your sales will shoot up if you would give ad in this newspaper as readers of this newspaper are high profile people and directors and CEOs of IT companies and this newspaper reach far places. I told them that readership of the IP is about 1 lakh and as monsoon season is there so you can mention about the monsoon sales you are offering. Finally I told him that if you would like we can also write write-up for you. Our journalist will come to you and you can give him the matter. Now he seemed to be convinced.

After that we three got back into the office and prepared a report on prospective clients and clients those might be interested later. We submitted the report to marketing manager Mr. Praveen Parkhi.

then we had to reach at parvati the hill top at 6 PM and all of us shared some wonderful experiences they got.

It was one of the day that I will remember in my life forever.
I learned lots and lots of things. It was a great and wonderful experience. This had fun, involved learning and moreover it tests you and your skills and what you are capable of as an individual.
